There are many advantages to reading books, for example, they improve vocabulary, memory, creativity, concentration, and knowledge, to name a few. It is also helpful to have a book handy for the times when you finish a test early, etc. I therefore strongly suggest parents to click the button below and order a book from Scholastic! I gave each student a booklet, but the books can also be found on the Scholastic website. If you order by the end of each month (or a couple days before, to ensure it has enough time to process), we can get rewards points which will be used to get prizes for our merit system! The "Class Activation Code" is NC9FF.
If anyone was unable to make it to back to school night, please find the link for the handout below:
Directives for the beginning of the 2014-2015 School Year:
Join this wikispace page (parents are also welcome to join!). To do so, first create your own wikispace (very simple- it should only take less than a minute!). Next, click "join now" at the top of this page- it will be right above where it says "Wiki Home," etc. I will accept your request as soon as possible. This will also give you access to edit the discussion page.
Read the class expectations, which can be found on the class overview page.
Gather the required supplies listed on the welcome page.
Cover all textbooks in brown paper, write your last name down the spine, and then cover in clear contact. Book socks are also acceptable.
Cover all workbooks in clear contact.
This should all be completed by the second week of school.
When working on any homework, tests, worksheets, etc., please always remember to do the following:
Put your name on everything.
Read all directions carefully.
Pay attention to the positive/negative signs.
Be sure to label everything, especially when creating graphs/charts.
Please make everything legible! Use a ruler or anything else with a straight edge when drawing lines, etc.
Double check your work! I try to give partial credit wherever possible; however, simple mistakes can drastically lower your grades.
